Who am I and what is The Scientific Journal of Gaming?

Hi there! I’m Mick Abrahamson, AKA The Nano Biologist. I graduated in 2015 with a dual degree in Biology and Nanoscience, hence why The Nano Biologist monicker was born. In my free time when I’m not playing games, I’m spending time with my amazing better half, Katie. We and our two corgis, Sushi and Mochi, love to go explore the DC and Maryland areas as well as try all kinds of new food whether by cooking or acting like foodies at new restaurants. I’ve been a gamer since I was 3 when I played a point and click adventure in a train station that I cannot for the life of me find the name of. Now, 24 years later, I’ve been playing all types of games and have been seeking an outlet to share my thoughts. This started in 2019/2020 when MCFixer gave me a chance with his new project at MyXboxAndMe.com. During 2020, I started writing reviews and a new spark of passion was lit. In 2021, I decided to go off on my own and shift focus to all different types of games and consoles, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here.

So, what is The Scientific Journal of Gaming? Science has been directly a part of my life ever since I was born. My dad and grandfather are doctors, and science was my favorite subject in school. I wanted to bring the two biggest parts of my life together through this outlet. I wanted to make a website in the form of a scientific journal where my reviews are the submissions.

There are no numbered review scores here. Any game I play will get one of three grades: Accepted, Conditional, and Rejected. To boil it down, Accepted games are ones that should be at the top of your list, Conditional games are ones that are fun but require some fixing before I think they’ll be worth your money, and Rejected games are ones that I think are unplayable or unenjoyable. To learn more about my review structure, head on over to the Reviews & Articles tab. I have so many ideas I want to implement and I can’t wait for you to join me on this journey. From this, to working on video reviews with my good friend Aaron Moeller, and expanding my TikTok presence with my Girlfriend, it’s going to be a wild and crazy adventure.
